Sure Feels Like Home

I love going back
to the State of Maine
Back to the land from
where my people came
Back to a life
so simple, free and plain
Sometimes I think that I
might not go home again

But I can't stay here
Don't know my way around here
But it sure feels good to see your face again

I won't be long here
'Cause I don't belong here
But it sure feels good to be among old friends

Sitting round the fire
singing songs and making rhyme
Could you ever think of
a better way to pass the time?
If time is but a thief,
then let's make love it's crime
Spend it in the light of love
that heals the heart and mind

It sure feels like home
'Cause I never feel alone
And the love we give will live to give again

And after I am gone
I hope your heart will sing this song
And it won't be long till I am back again

I can't stay here
Don't know my way around here
But it sure feels good to see your face again

And after I am gone
I know your heart will sing this song
And it won't be long till I am back again

We're not long here
So let there be song here
Let there be love to give and live to give again
